Daniel E. Oyon, MD

Neurosurgeon, Cranial and Spine Specialist

Dr. Daniel E. Oyon was born in Caracas, Venezuela and immigrated to the USA at age eight. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he grew up. He went on to obtain his medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, where he stayed to complete both his neurosurgical residency training as well as a fellowship in skull base neurosurgery, specializing in complex brain tumors using both open and endoscopic techniques. During his training, he also completed specialty training in spinal fusion, deformity correction, and minimally invasive spine surgery. He then joined Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine as a general neurosurgeon subspecializing in the treatment of patients with brain tumors.

His clinical interests include both cranial and spinal surgery, including but not limited to brain and spine tumors, stereotactic radiosurgery, traumatic brain injury, trigeminal neuralgia, degenerative spine disease, and spinal deformity. He has expertise in a variety of technologies and techniques including image-guided navigation, radiosurgical planning, and both microscopic and endoscopic minimally invasive surgery. He believes in individualized care and aims to tailor his approach to every patient in a compassionate and holistic manner. His academic publications span a wide variety of topics ranging from basic science and clinical outcomes in neuro-oncology to book chapters in the management of spinal disease. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS).

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, weightlifting, reading, hiking, and traveling.
