Bryan A. Schatmeyer, MD

Dr. Bryan A. Schatmeyer is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. He earned his medical degree through a highly competitive, accelerated six-year BS/MD program at the Northeast Ohio Medical University. He graduated with highest honors and served as president of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his neurosurgical residency at The University of Kansas Health System from 2018 to 2025, where he served as President of the Graduate Medical Education Resident Council from 2022 to 2023.
His clinical interests include the treatment of complex spine conditions, with a focus on degenerative cervical and thoracolumbar spinal deformity, spinal tumors, as well as cranial and spinal trauma. He is extensively trained in minimally invasive spine surgery, offering patients advanced treatment options designed to minimize tissue disruption, reduce recovery time, and optimize outcomes. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
Dedicated to a patient-centered approach, Dr. Schatmeyer believes every individual’s condition is unique and deserves a personalized care plan. He prioritizes understanding each patient’s story with the aim of restoring quality of life, maximizing function, and minimizing pain. He also believes that exceptional outcomes begin with exceptional communication. He highly values open, honest dialogue with his patients, as well as clear communication with his entire team.
Outside of work, Dr. Schatmeyer is an avid traveler, enjoys life with his wife and two beloved dogs, and is a classically trained violinist who has performed at the semi-professional level.
