Spine Section is the largest operative spine surgery committee in the country. Attendees collaborate and gain insight into varying practice models nationally. Utilizing evidence based science, attendees engage in advocating for patient access to new technologies and procedures. The committee also creates guidelines to standardize protocols nationwide and worldwide, and determines best care practices. Goodman Campbell’s Dr. Eric Potts was nominated and selected as Chairman of the Spine Section of the American Association of Neurological/Congress of Neurological Surgeons in February 2023 and will be presenting at the upcoming 2024 Spine Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Part of Dr. Pott’s leadership duties during his time as Chairman consisted of reporting to the AANS Board of Directors, attending multiple meetings throughout the year, and advocating for patient care.
Dr. Potts shared his personal interests in the Spine Section are largely centered around data collection and quality improvement, something Goodman Campbell excels in nationally. His initiatives throughout his tenure included growing the advanced practice provider track, creating a track for orthopedic education, and increasing overall attendance for APPs.
