Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine’s Clinical Research Coordinator Erin Delaney recently passed the certification exam for research professionals.
Alongside fellow academics and research team members, Erin has now reached the milestone of Certified Clinical Research Professional through the Society of Clinical Research Associates. The certification provides an internationally recognized standard of knowledge, education and experience in the research community. It is available to individuals who have at minimum two years of experience working in the research field and have met rigorous application requirements.
Erin has been with Goodman Campbell since 2019 and has been an integral part of the clinical and research teams. In her current role, Erin is involved in various research studies. Her responsibilities include assisting our physicians and team by working with patients and sponsors to accurately contribute data which will ultimately result in improvement of patient treatment and care.
When asked what sparked her interest in research, Erin stated, “I have always been a big nerd when it comes to neuroscience. I started out in college unsure of what I wanted to work toward or what field I wanted to focus on. I noticed that when given the opportunity to select topics of our own interest for assignments, I would always lean toward finding scientific articles about the brain and nervous system. The more I read these articles, I began to realize how little is scientifically understood about the brain and how vital research studies are in developing effective treatment. I was determined to make a way into this field.”
Erin hopes to use this knowledge and certification to continue providing excellent care to research patients at Goodman Campbell. “I am grateful to Goodman Campbell for the opportunity to join the research and academic team, and all of the knowledge I have gained thus far.”
