Dr. Jodi Smith joins Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 13, 2019) — Jodi Smith, PhD, MD, pediatric neurosurgeon with Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine, has joined the team at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent. As a leader in advancing the health of adults and children with neurosurgical disorders and providing comprehensive care, Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine looks forward to growing its relationship with the full-service children’s medical center and pediatric network that Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital offers.

Hospital leadership has been a great partner in helping us, as Goodman Campbell Brain & Spine transitions all of our pediatric neurosurgical care to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. I’m thankful for the opportunity to work with such a progressive team to provide state of the art care for our children,” said Dr. Smith. “I want to give my patients the best care possible because they mean everything to me—they are like family.”

Dr. Smith brings over 20 years of expertise in pediatric epilepsy, brain and spinal cord tumors, moyamoya disease, traumatic brain injuries, and neurological congenital malformations. She has performed over 4,500 operations, making her one of the most senior pediatric neurosurgeons in the state. Dr. Smith received her medical and doctoral degrees from the University of Utah and completed a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School.

Along with nurse practitioner Kimberly Minnick and nurse Heather King, Dr. Smith plans to build the pediatric neurosurgery program in order to provide outstanding care. While Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital currently possesses state-of-the-art technology, Dr. Smith says that she looks forward to expanding the capabilities of the department and aims to make this program very special with the support of hospital staff and leadership.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Jodi Smith and Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine to our exceptional care team at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital,” said Hospital President Dr. Hossain Marandi. “Dr. Smith’s stellar reputation and commitment to treat every child as if they were her own will bring tremendous benefit to our patients and provide assurance to families seeking the highest level of neurosurgical care for children of all ages, right here in Indiana.”
