INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 13, 2019) — Jodi Smith, PhD, MD, pediatric neurosurgeon with Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine, has joined the team at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent. Dr. Smith brings over 20 years of expertise in pediatric epilepsy, brain and spinal cord tumors, moyamoya disease, traumatic brain injuries, and neurological congenital malformations. She has performed over 4,500 operations, making her one of the most senior pediatric neurosurgeons in the state. Dr. Smith received her medical and doctoral degrees from the University of Utah and completed a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School.
Along with nurse practitioner Kimberly Minnick and nurse Heather King, Dr. Smith plans to build the pediatric neurosurgery program in order to provide outstanding care. While Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital currently possesses state-of-the-art technology, Dr. Smith says that she looks forward to expanding the capabilities of the department and aims to make this program very special with the support of hospital staff and leadership.
