Pain Patient Says Dr. Derron Wilson Saved My Life

After a year of constant, burning back pain, Roberta Lafuze has finally found relief and says she owes her life to Derron Wilson, MD, GCBS’ director of the Interventional Pain Management Center.

CBS 4 Indy (WTTV) recently featured Lafuze, who suffered severe nerve damage from a slip in the mud. She had lost all hope to ever live pain-free until she was referred to Dr. Wilson. Wilson is among the first physicians in the country to perform Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation to treat patients who suffer from hard-to-treat pain. The procedure involves neuromodulation of the dorsal root ganglia (DRG) by implanting a pacemaker-like device under the skin. The device sends regular electric pulses to the affected nerve in the spine.

The relief from her back pain was immediate for Lafuze. Dr. Wilson encourages anyone suffering from chronic pain to consider a consultation to determine whether the procedure is an option.
