Allied Health

Bev Hoopingarner, RN

After graduating from Ball State University, I started my nursing career at Tucson Medical Center in a progressive unit. We then relocated back to good old Indiana, where I worked ICU (primarily neuro ICU) for over 15 years. GCBS has been my work home for 23 years. I have been nursing for over 40 years, and it is my passion! Assisting patients and their families through the neurosurgery process is something I cherish. Easing their fears, answering their questions, or just listening—these are all things I embrace. I truly care for our patients and provide the care I would expect a family member to receive. My surgeons are not just good, they are exceptional, and they expect our patients to have exceptional care. In my free time, I love spending time with my grown children and their families. Long hikes in the parks are a joy. (Yes, I’m a tree hugger.) Trips to the beach to walk in the sand are always revitalizing.
