Dr. Aaron Cohen-Gadol was featured in a story by CNN that told about his surgery on a teenager who had a brain tumor. Dr. Cohen used two procedures: an awake craniotomy — brain surgery when the patient is awake during it — and brain mapping in order to ensure that vital structures in the brain were not affected by surgery. The patient is healthy and is now attending college.
